Bob Newsome is a senior associate at the Brookwood Group whose primary focus is serving owners in the K-12, higher education and federal markets. Bob has more than 20 years’ experience in the design and construction of major capital projects for both public and private sector owners. Bob has considerable knowledge in programming, planning, design management and procurement, construction administration, and project close out. Prior to joining Brookwood, Bob was the Special Assistant to the Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. In that role, Bob managed the efforts to develop, design and construct major state project initiatives, including Brasstown Valley and Lake Blackshear Resorts. He also served on the implementation committee for several of the initiatives for Governor Purdue’s Commission for a New Georgia. Bob has served on the boards of the Lake Lanier Island Authority, and the Sapelo Island and Smithgall Woods Foundations. Bob is a real advocate for sustainable use of the state’s resources and he brings that spirit to his role at the Brookwood Group.
