Agnes Scott College prepares all students to be leaders in a global society through SUMMIT, its signature approach to a liberal arts education that provides every student with an individualized course of study and co-curricular experiences focusing on global learning and leadership development.
As part of SUMMIT, each student has a board of advisors - an individualized team that will help them fulfill their academic and professional goals. Students also travel on a weeklong faculty-led global travel experience during their first year and may choose to study or intern abroad in later years. Additionally, students immerse themselves in a progressive curriculum of courses, labs and internships with themes of leadership and global challenges. Upon graduation from Agnes Scott, students are prepared with the skills necessary to succeed in the workforce or in graduate school.
SUMMIT builds on the strengths of Agnes Scott, which for the past 129 years has educated students to think deeply, live honorably and engage the intellectual and social challenges of their times. The student-faculty ratio is 10:1, and tenure-track faculty members hold a terminal degree in their fields. Nearly 1,000 diverse students from 46 states and territories and 34 countries study on the college’s 100-acre campus in Decatur, Georgia, six miles from downtown Atlanta.
