Founded in 1878, Brenau University enrolls students in graduate and undergraduate studies on campuses and online. The Gainesville-based doctoral degree-granting institution with a liberal arts foundation includes the Brenau Women’s College and campuses in Augusta, Norcross and Fairburn, as well as Jacksonville, Florida. Its Gainesville footprint includes the historic main campus and two other locations: Brenau East, home of the schools of nursing and occupational therapy, a human simulator laboratory and dance studio; and the Brenau Downtown Center, a performance venue and home for the physical therapy doctorate program, human anatomy lab and Manhattan Gallery of Art. Brenau consistently places as a top higher education value in the Southeast in more than 60 independent studies and as a top workplace in published national and regional surveys.

Brenau offers three doctorates and a terminal M.F.A. degree as well as a range of master’s, bachelor’s and associate’s degrees and professional certifications in more than 50 areas of study. The Women’s College provides a full range of academic and extracurricular experiences, including 12 nationally competitive varsity sports, national sororities and honor societies, and outlets for artistic expression and community service. Brenau Galleries features one of the finest university art collections held by an educational institution in the Southeast, with more than 6,500 pieces. The university produces year-round art exhibitions, lectures and literary readings, musical and theatrical performances, and other activities for students and the community.
