Brewton-Parker College, founded 1904, is a four-year, coeducational Christian liberal arts college that offers more than twenty areas of undergraduate study to a diverse population of about 600 students. With a main campus set in the Mount Vernon-Vidalia area of south-central Georgia, the college also maintains an external program site in Newnan, located in the northern part of the state about 40 miles southwest of Atlanta. As a Georgia Baptist institution, Brewton-Parker affirms the supremacy of Christ in a faith-based learning community where faculty and staff alike nurture and develop the whole student in a caring, Christian environment.
Students enjoy challenging academic programs presented unapologetically from the perspective of a biblical worldview by highly qualified faculty fully engaged in their disciplines and devoted to teaching. All academic areas emphasize both critical thinking and practical application, preparing students for a life of productive servant leadership in diverse fields of endeavor.
Residential students on the Mount Vernon campus participate in a comprehensive campus life program involving student organizations, intramural sports, and campus ministry opportunities. The Brewton-Parker Barons compete in 12 intercollegiate sports, including women’s wrestling and lacrosse starting in 2016! BPC is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NAIA) and a candidate for membership in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). The college is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC) to offer bachelor’s and associate’s degrees.
