Shorter University offers excellent educational opportunities within a Christ-centered environment. Our students receive individualized attention from caring faculty members who want to help the students become all that God designed them to be. At Shorter, classes are taught by professors who are well-trained academically with experience in their respective fields. More importantly, they have a deep commitment to Christ and view their work as a ministry in which they prepare students for various career paths who will have a global impact for the cause of the Kingdom.

U.S. News & World Report and The Princeton Review annually includes Shorter on their lists of best Southeastern colleges. Shorter’s 150-acre hilltop campus in Rome, Georgia, is home to the university’s traditional programs. In addition, Shorter offers degree programs for working adults. Online courses and degree programs are also available. The purchase of Thornwood, the historic home of university namesake Colonel Alfred Shorter, expanded Shorter’s footprint in Rome, offering newly renovated facilities for Shorter’s Ben and Ollie Brady School of Nursing and the university’s School of Education.

Shorter is a member of Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and its well-rounded athletic program is part of a vibrant campus life.
