At Shorter College, a liberal arts education becomes an accompanied journey for each of its 1,800 students. The College is affiliated with the Georgia Baptist Convention but welcomes students of all faiths. It has been a center for education in the arts and sciences since its founding in north Georgia in 1873.
The College offers two main programs of study. The traditional residential semester program, with an eight-week summer session, is held on the Rome campus. Bachelor's degrees offered include the B.A., B.S., B.B.A., B.S.Ed., B.M., B.F.A., B.M.E., and B.C.M.
The Professional Studies Program serves working adults over 23 years of age who attend school year-round. The main headquarters is located at 6151 Powers Ferry Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30339, with two other metropolitan campus locations in Lawrenceville and Riverdale. Bachelor's degrees in business, B.S.M., and B.S.B.A. are offered, as well as a Master's of Business Administration, Master's of Arts - Major in Leadership, and an Associate of Science in Business.
In 2006, Shorter College was ranked for the sixth consecutive year among the South's top comprehensive colleges focusing on bachelor's degrees by U.S. News & World Report. The college also received its third annual ranking as a "Best Southeastern College" and a "Best Value College" from the Princeton Review.
