Wesleyan College was founded in 1836 as the first college in the world chartered to grant degrees to women. Today, it is regarded as one of the nation's finest liberal arts colleges and is consistently ranked as one of America's Best Colleges by U.S. News & World Report and Princeton Review. Wesleyan offers 35 majors, 29 minors, and 8 pre-professional programs, plus MA and MBA graduate degree programs.

The College's academic program is renowned for its quality. An exceptional faculty teaches classes in seminar style. A student-faculty ratio of 10:1 ensures that students are known by more than a grade or number. The acceptance rate of Wesleyan students into medical, law, business, and other graduate programs is exemplary.
