GICA Compliance Collaborative

Crisis Communications: It's Not a Matter of "If" But "When"

Tuesday, February 26, 2019
1:30 to 2:30 pm

  (For GICA CCP Schools Only)

GICA is hosting a webinar created exclusively for Compliance Collaborative members. If you are unsure whether you represent a Compliance Collaborative member school, please contact Judy Spain.  If there are other folks on your campus that would be interested in attending this webinar training, please forward this information on to them.

This webinar is dedicated to crisis communications planning. How and when you communicate – and what you say when you do – is of paramount importance, especially in today’s world. What do you do when crisis hits? Do you know how to respond? What is your plan for communicating with the audiences that matter the most?

This session will provide you with increased knowledge and understanding of communicating during a crisis, as well as greater awareness of when and how you should engage – especially given today’s 24/7 news environment and the viral nature of social media. You will leave with the confidence and skills needed to respond to and manage crisis situations.

Registration Deadline: Monday, February 25 at 4:00 p.m.  Registration and log-in information will be sent to registrants on Monday, February 25 after 4:00 p.m.

Presenter: Philip Hauserman, Vice President, The Castle Group
Philip leads the Atlanta office of The Castle Group.  As a senior leader of the firms crisis magagement practice, Philip routinely works closely with education, healthcare, non-profit, corporate, and professional services clients to develop and implement strategic public relations programs that deliver timely, consistent, and concise messages to the audiences that matter most.

He also leads communications programs surrounding critical events, helping clients prepare for or react to high visibility issues. Examples of sensitive and highly charged situations he has helped clients manage include discrimination, litigation, wrongful termination, workplace violence, sexual assault, data breaches, and executive misconduct, among others.

Philip graduated from Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina, with a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in business administration. He and his wife Ashley, a Nurse Practitioner on the Egleston campus of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, live in Decatur with their children, Emma and Henry. When not working or spending time with family, you’ll find him outdoors, typically swimming, biking, or running.
