Steven Alexander Holmes Hometown: Athens, GA B.A., Sports Management, Emmanuel College "I have many things to be thankful for. God, of course, but financial aid certainly helps! Thanks to everyone involved in financial aid." As a native of Athens, Georgia, Alex will always be a "Dawg fan," but he decided he wanted to attend college outside of his hometown. He chose Emmanuel after hearing about it from a baseball coach who encouraged him to play for Emmanuel's team. "I came here, and it was the greatest decision I could've made." "There's no doubt I would not be here if it weren't for financial aid," Alex continues. He received the HOPE scholarship, the Georgia Tuition Equalization Grant, and the Pell Grant, thanks in part to Emmanuel's financial aid office. "The financial aid office here at Emmanuel does a great job of keeping students informed of what needs to be done to get the most financial aid possible." A sports management major, Alex plans to pursue a career in teaching and coaching after he graduates from Emmanuel. He knows that his time at Emmanuel has prepared him to meet his goals. "The spiritual aspects of Emmanuel College have helped me grow, and will definitely help me in the future. I want to be a leader in whatever I do. Emmanuel has taught me what it takes to be a leader in everything that I do." |
