Marie Zhong Hometown: Orange Walk Town, Belize B.A., Computer Information Systems, Reinhardt College "Getting a college degree here was a long and rough road, and I am so thrilled and proud to know that I have almost made it. It is not just an ordinary college degree -- I have also learned about American culture and lifestyle, which gives me a broader perspective about the world. Coming from such a long way, it makes me cherish my education even more. It would have never been possible without the hard work of my parents and support of my good friends here." Marie Zhong first learned of Reinhardt from her host family while searching for colleges and universities within the United States. She was attracted by the college's affordability, as well as its range of programs leading to an associate's degree. After enrolling at Reinhardt, Marie decided to stay on and obtain her bachelor's degree. "I would not have been able to pursue my bachelor's degree if I had not received financial aid," she recalls. The Vice President for Enrollment and Student Affairs at Reinhardt worked with Marie and the offices of admission and financial aid to ensure that she would receive the aid she needed to complete her education. Marie feels strongly that her four years at Reinhardt will have a positive impact on her future. "Reinhardt College has a rich selection of general core courses that every student must take, in addition to their major courses, to fully prepare them for their future. So, no matter what my concentration, I have learned a bit about every field, be it humanities, art, science, history or foreign language." After completing her core courses, Marie decided on a major in computer information systems. She hopes to remain in the United States upon graduating. She is already looking at web sites and submitting her resume online. "I would like to find a job that is challenging yet fulfilling, and allows me to fully expand my knowledge and my abilities. My college education will be very valuable to me wherever I go and in whatever I do." |
